Ecological transition for the built environment: natural insulating materials in green building rating systems

This research applies ITACA LEED protocols quantify impact levels. Starting from comparison between these analysis credits related within LEED, were applied an existing multi-story residential by varying envelope, such glass wool, expanded polystyrene (EPS), two types natural (e.g., mineralized wood fiber kenaf). results every envelope configuration obtained both protocols, except EPS, did not obtain LEED. However, although kenaf can be considered materials, they do reach maximum achievable category score influenced material choice.
